In advance of the IACCP 2026 Conference, E.D.U.C.A.T.E. is organizing a pre-conference workshop that will help you gain confidence in developing courses and implementing new teaching strategies. This in-person pre-conference workshop will occur on Monday, July 13th 2026 from 13:00h to 18:00h at KU Leuven. A light snack and tea/coffee will be included during the break.
This workshop will equip instructors of (cross-)cultural psychology with the conceptual grounding and practical tools needed to make their courses more interactive and effectively integrate experiential approaches into their teaching. The workshop will include the following components:
● You will be introduced to core principles of experiential learning, including the experiential learning cycle, as well as key concepts such as cultural competence and cultural humility.
● We will examine different types of experiential learning activities, highlighting their respective strengths, limitations, and pedagogical considerations. You will also engage in a simulated experiential activity to gain first-hand insight into its processes and outcomes.
● We will have a break, snack, and opportunities for informal discussions.
● We will focus on the role of the facilitator and the importance of debriefing, with a hands-on exercise allowing participants to practice facilitation and debriefing techniques.
● We will address the practical applications and implications of experiential learning in higher education, including its potential contribution to inclusive teaching of (cross-)cultural psychology.
The cost of this in-person, pre-conference workshop is as follows:
$15 – Student IACCP members from low- and middle-income countries
$25 – Student IACCP members from high-income countries
