Election. Ballots for new IACCP officers are being mailed along with
this issue of the Bulletin. Please return them to our Secretary/General,
Josephine Naidoo. Her article later in this issue discusses some details
of the election. The amount of work Josie has devoted to IACCP over the
last two years is indeed incredible, and I have gigabytes of e-mail messages
from her to prove it.
Pay your dues! Many of you reading this issue have not paid your
1996 dues (I calculate about one third!). IACCP has a very lenient policy
for defining membership, however, the Association would benefit from a higher
rate of payment. I have constructed a simple, easy-to-follow flowchart (below)
to guide you in this process. Note that the expiration date of your membership
is printed on the mailing label.
IACCP Web page. I have added a section to the IACCP Web page containing
notices for books published by IACCP members. If you have published a book
since 1994 that you would like included, please let me know. I am also trying
to include color scans of the book covers to the extent that they are available
to me.
Electronic communication. I have found that many of the e-mail addresses
we have on file don't work. If you haven't received e-mail from me in the
last month or so, please send me your address (by e-mail).
The Web and IACCP. General Announcements sections over the last several
Bulletins have contained ever more World Wide Web cultural items. There
is talk of an electronic cross-cultural journal (not by people in IACCP
or the other cross-cultural organizations). Perhaps we need to consider
where IACCP would like to be on the "infobahn" in the next several
years.
